There is a wide lack in the markets about business travel management in Latin America.
The event, which so far has been held in Colombia, has an academic approach aimed at specialists in the sector and includes the participation of travel service providers to companies such as airlines, banks and hotels.
“The attendees who attend the event are managers or directors of business travel agencies, service providers such as hotel chains, airlines, software provider companies for travel companies, among others,” explained the project manager of Viajes Corp Americas, Fabio Giraldo.
Among the topics to be discussed at the conferences are: innovation in mature markets; connectivity evolution; innovation in the negotiation of services; and evolution of the direct channel and the new consumer.
Giraldo explained that there is a wide lack in the markets about business travel management in Latin America, although countries such as Brazil and Mexico are ahead and take that issue “to another level”.
But with their initiative, the organizers trust that Panama, due to its connectivity, will become a platform to train attendees from different countries in the region.
The president of the Global Business Travel Association in Colombia and also a member of the academic committee of ViajesCorp, Nelson Triana, explained that the way of traveling has evolved in a very dynamic way in recent years and the different channels on travel management have had to adapt, so the conferences in the congress will serve to address these new guidelines.
Tools and advice
The conclave will give tools and advice to both buyers and sellers so they can make travel management more effective, he said.
During the travel management congress, the seventh version of the “Travel Manager” contest will be held , which seeks to recognize the professionals of the sector in Latin America and for which there are already several nominated travel managers from Peru, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Panama.
Parallel to ViajesCorp, the “MeetingsCorp Americas” congress will be held, which will address issues related to the operation of events, logistics and assembly of congresses, conventions and business meetings. His focus for this year will be the planning and realization of memorable events.
The programming of the international activity includes conferences, commercial tables, “gamification” workshops , discussion panels and business sessions.
According to the promoters, the commercial event will also be attended by the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), which will show the structures and spaces for conventions in Panama. Some 400 people attended the previous version of the two events, held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. The organization of Viajes Corp Américas and Meetings Corp Américas is carried out by the company Latin Press Inc.
